skipping Honda 350 rancher

Just wondering if anyone could help me ? My rancher recently developed a skipping problem,I adjusted idle up but now runs fine when on the throttle but when you ease off to slow down it skips.I drained fuel put in a new spark plug. this problem started after washing I cut the fuel off and stood it up on the back rack to wash from underneath.Some fuel mixed with the oil and i drained and added fresh oil. anybody ever had anything like this happen? :?

when you say skipping, do you mean missing, kinda a hesitation or what exactly?  Have you talked to the Honda shop about this?  Ok, did you use a high pressure sprayer?  Never use high pressure.  It isn't necessary to remove even stubborn mud and you can ruin alot of so called sealed bearings and other parts that are ok under normal water pressure,  but allow crud to get in with high pressure sprays.

Now how did oil mix with the fuel?  I don't quite understand how that happened???  Sounds more like water in the fuel system.  Have you completely drained the fuel tank?  I would definately drain and make sure all water is out of the system, filters etc.. and replace with fresh clean fuel and give it a try.

yeah, I guess missing sounds like its running out of fuel then you get back on the throttle sounds normal. No pressure washer.A guy told me when you stand them up you need to cut the gas off and let it run til it runs completely out of fuel before you stand it up and I didn't and he said fuel probably ran back in to the crankcase.
Yes, I drained the fuel and cleaned, replaced filters and added fresh fuel. I haven't called the honda shop yet didn't know if it was something simple I has overlooked or not. I have had several 4 wheelers and washed them the same way an never had a problem.Guess I'll have to come off some cash and take it to the honda shop.  thanks for the response mark :?

maybe the shop is the way to go then.  I never have stood one up to wash it.  Do you do that for any particular reason?  I guess I've just never cared too much about any remaining mud unerneath the atv.  Good luck with it.
