.357 HotShot ammo,,,
« on: April 15, 2008, 03:00:19 AM »
I purchased 3 boxes of 20 rounds per T/C ammo a few years ago. Not sure why but local store had it a long time. I could shoot it in my .357 mag Handi Rifle but don't really 'need to'. Is it 'collectable' or should I shoot a few aerial targets with it??
Thanks,,,trying to clean out some shop drawers.

I think it has become collectable...at least more so than .410's. So I just switch barrels and pop a few of them instead.  Walt   :)

If they are the old hotshot loads made by TC, they won't open up or work properly in anything but a TC 357 barrel with a straight rifled choke on/in the end of the barrel. They were designed to work only in these barrels. If you shoot it out of a handi rifle it will function as a bullet only and probably will not open up and spread shot.

I think you are right. I did want to find out how 'rare and desirable' the stuff was before I popped a test round or 3. I'll search the auction sites to see if anyone is auctioning similar T/C ammo [357 or 44].
Thanks.
