wind effect on Groups

How much of a effect on my 22lr groups should there be in gusty 20-30mph cross winds in only 30yards?  I was getting up to 3 inch groups.

With a micro grove barrel do they prefer specific types of ammo?

In those cross winds I was getting 3-4 inch groups shooting of of my version of a Fur-pod.  It seemed a lot bigger than I would have expected. I was expecting to get the same or better groups that I get out of stock 10-22 with 50 rd Mags and a hot barrel.

Someone has to have a opinion.

I think the key word here is "Gusty"  if the winds were constant then I would expect to see the whole group shift.  Are your shots stringing horizontally but holding good for elevation?

micro groove barrels on old Mossbergs seem to like Winchester  xpert bulk at that range the wind should not have enough time to cause that big of a spread in your group, I'm assuming you could stand up in the wind.
