10-22 trigger group

I am a lefty and just got a new lefty safety. I contacted Ruger and asked for disassembly  procedures for the trigger group. and got the reply "we do not advise the trigger group be dissembled and do not have any procedures. I did not mention that I wanted to change the safety.
Having, in the past dissembled items and had difficulty putting them back together I thought I would get more cooperation from Ruger.
I suspect the lawyers got into the picture by not condoning dissasembly of parts with hammer, sear and safety.

Would anyone care to help with the safety replacement proceedures

After you get the TG out,the first thing is get a gallon size baggy.The baggy will keep you from having to order a new plunger and spring.Don't ask how I know this.Pull all the other parts out.Place the TG in the baggy and push the safety about half way.Using thumb and finger turn the safety about a half turn.Should here the plunger and spring fly out.If not turn a little more.After they come out you can push the button on through.Just reverse the procedure to reassyemble.To hold down the plunger I use a very small flat blade screw driver.Hope this helps.Slow

for depressing the plunger use an old ballpoint ink cartridge just perfect fit to press the plunger down while you push it out of the way with the safety. the gallon baggy is also highly recommended

The safety is a real bear to reassemble.  Pushing that little spring down and lineing it up for the detent is frustrating.  I used this tool and the job went easy.

 I know this is a old thread ,but thought this link would help .
 I took mine apart and had no problem putting it back together . Even the safety .
