My stint is almost done!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks now because I have been in the process of moving. I am on terminal leave right now and back home in Maine. Another week and a half and I will be out of the Navy and looking for that ever elusive job. I just want to wish all of the GBO members that are currently still in the military good luck and as always watch your 6.

Congratulations!  I know how elated you must be, after 24 years I had mixed emotions about hanging the uniform up, but looking back it was likely the smartest move I ever made.  I was proud to serve, but today the greatest thing about it is the deposit I find in my checking account the first of the month.

There are plenty of jobs out there for former military, the bad thing, it may not be in the area where you and the family want to set up house keeping.

was working and a guy asked "Isn't great getting paid retirement and working full time" I told him i'd let him know after my terminal leave ran out. Congratulations on your retirement thanks for the service now enjoy life.

I just wanted to let you know that I didn't retire. I did nine and a half years and I feel that was plenty because it felt like 20. So no retirement pay for me. But I have to thank you for answering my question. Ever since I seen your user name I wondered if you were prior Navy. Do you know what I.Y.A.O.Y.A.S means?
