Chicago Gun Control???

   With one of the most restrictive gun control policies in the country, and most absurd, they had 20 shootings in 12 hours. You would think they would wake up and realize IT DOES NOT WORK. Oh, and I did not read about any innocent civilian returning fire, of course, because they have been disarmed by law. This happened between Friday night and Saturday morning this weekend.

I was in Chicago over the week end. It was amusing to hear the news cast about there being "only" 20 shooting that night. Made it sound like that was an improvement.   KN

Wrong.  The police chief is already blaming the excess of guns as the problem.

If everyone in the city demanded 24-7 protection from the police like the idiots that pass this garbage demand and get there would be a halt to the problem, Me i carry a pistol because a cop is too heavy.

Chicago has a gang problem and Daley needs to get his house in order. Plain and simple. But he can't. Most of the gangs are composed of minority groups that Daley HAS to cater to in order to be reelected. If he would crack down on gangs, then he would have a racial problem to deal with too. The poor bastard can only target the inanimate-the gun! Daley is one sorry individual.

Dirtbag control would be the most obvious place to start, this would mean actually doing something. Doing something ain't going to happen, so much easier to grandstand about an inanimate object. Better yet pass laws to limit guns in a city that already bans guns. Daley has had how many years to clean his city up ?  If you can't get rid of the guns, (listen it's coming..........) get rid of the no goodnics who are breaking the laws. I'm so glad I moved.

He called an "emergency summit" with church leaders and police and the only thing that came out of it is they are going to arm the police with m4's. He says it is so the police can match the firepower of the gangs but last I saw the gangs were using hand guns not automatic weapons.

I almost forgot. I have to admit there was one black reverand they interviewed and he didn't get on the anti gun band wagon. He suggested the state resume the summer jobs program to get these kids off the streets and working for a living, at least over the summer. My friend was on it when we were kids, it was for lower income families, they had jobs working in the forest preserves or on garbage trucks working for different towns, mostly laborer type jobs but it gave him something to do during the summer besides get into trouble.

The chicago gun control topic would almost be laughable if something like 32 people hadn't died before Saturday night was over.  To me this is absolutely incredible.  I don't mind a bit if they are all druggies or gang members or criminals or whatever but any innocent people who get in the way should not be considered 'collateral' damage to poor crime control.

And for the love of God do not give chicago cops M4 carbines.  Chicago cops are worst shots than neu yawk cops and if they just found the four ny cops who shot that unarmed groom 50 times, innocent of all crimes, just think of how bad it will be in chicago before the people have to rise up and take back the city. 

Give chicago cops M4s - for the love of God.  Doesn't this sort of show how ineffective democraptic party politics can be.
