Don't you load  for a 243? If so, get you some H4831 or H414. Mine are loaded just short of Max. 1''+or- at a 100 all day long. I and my brotherinlaw have killed a bunch of deer with these. Give 'em a try! These are my most favorite bullet for hunting whitetails in the SW Va mountains!

Yeah, i reload, but i'm a novice. i ask alot more questions then i have answers for at this stage.
i hear tell that the Nosler partitions are the cats azz on whitetails, and i was wondering how these Interlocks compare.

I myself would not spend the extra $$ for partition bullets for deer.Unless maybe using a super magnum shooting close range.

my .243 likes 44.5 grs of RL22 with the 100gr bullets. I can get 1" groups with that load

I'm also working on a load for the same round. Started with IMR4350 and CCI primers and had OK results. Loaded some this A.M. and switched to winchester primers. Also loaded some H4831 and the CCI primers. Hope to shoot some time this week. I will post results.   TVC15

I have Federal brass with CCI primers. My Lymans manual ( 48th) shows Varget with the best results, and since i still have some of that, thats what im using.
I think most guys use the .243 for varmits, so the RN may be less popular..

I've been a fan of Interlocks ever since I got my first centerfire rifle a, 260 Rem. I started reloading and chose the Interlock SP (pointed) because they were cheap. They shot so well, and perform on deer so well that I kept on using them. I also use them in my new 243. The only reason I don't use them in my 25-06 is the guy that I bought it from had a tackdriver load using the Nosler Ballistic Silver Tip, so that's what I use in that. I've never tried the roundnose, though. My 243 load is a rather mild load using H4831SC. THe 243 would not be used when long shots are likely, so the mild load will do me just fine.

Sci,

As I stated earlier, these work great for my kind of hunting. If I were hunting where longer shots were the norm, I'd look to another style bulllet. Any deer that I've shot with one of these had a hole on each side so I can't tell much more than it killed the deer. Exit wound was always larger than the entrance, especially if a bone got hit.

Thats my intentions, deer hunting. probably no more then 125 yards, i figured thats where these bullets would work best., i just wasnt sure  about the round nose and how they performed, but it sounds as if they'll do ok.

I have loaded the 243 Winchester for over 25 years using any 100 grain bullet and IMR-4350 or H-4350 is a 300 yard deer sized game killer.

I use Hornady Interlock's more that any other bullets.  I also have some Herter's 100 grain semi-pointed bullets also for my 243 Winchester.

Big Mulies across canyons shots, Whitetails & Black Bear over bait, all might be embarrassed that they died from the 243 Winchester but dead is dead with only one shot.

My 243 Winchester also loves Hornady 70, 75 & 87 grain varmint bullets for coyotes, but the lighter 55 to 65 grain bullets don't stabilize well enough for my liking.

Thanks Yooper. Im convinced that the Interlocks are good bullets, and the .243 is enough for whitetails.

I spend a good deal of time there myself. usually around St.Ignace or Marquette. The ex lives in near Ewen, so get up that way often. Wish i could move up there, been looking at land near Paradise ( mostly for hunting at this point though).
