OLder SB-2 Frame

I have an older SB-2 frame (serial # NG245132) that is limited in the barrels that HR will fit.  After doing a search( and I am not proficient at doing so) I have not found anything that explains why this frame is limited to the following:

22 hornet, 30-30, .357, .44, 45-70, or 223. 

It currently has a 7mm-08 barrel.   I was hoping to add a .204  or a .243 barrel?

H&R Customer Service gave no reason other than company policy.


 
Is there a reason that I can't do this if I can find a barrel on this site or somewhere else.
