Howas by Any Other Name
« on: April 24, 2008, 01:10:21 PM »
I know Howa rifles have been sold under S&W and Mossberg names. Does anyone know what years they were sold under those names. I have a Mossberg I bought from a pawnshop in 1991. It is still my favorite hunting rifle and I've had a ball tinkering with it.

The Charter is the same gun as the Mossberg ATR.  They started out as a rifle called the Raptor from Raptor Arms.  They quickly sold the plans and patents to Charter Arms.  After Charter dropped them, Mossberg ended up buying everything and making a few improvments to the gun and the stock.
