As far as I know , yes they still offer the 30/30 , but the barrels have been out of stock for awhile now , I think I remember someone saying that they would have the Acc. barrels sometime in June or July .

That's good to know. I haven't decided for sure just how bad I want one but I wanted to get a feel for the going price. I've looked on Wholesale Hunter, Gunbroker, Auction Arms, Whitakers etc and theirs none listed. All says "back ordered". Are these that popular?

Ya they are that popular , the 30/30 is one of the least problematic of all the Handi's , WHY ? because they just flat shoot and do it very well .

I don't think I would ever part with mine or my 45/70 , their just too good of guns .

The going price for the standard Handi is around $230 to $270 depending on were you get it , the reason I like mine so much is that I can load down with cast bullets for fun plunking or go with a HEAVY jacketed bullet for any whitetail or pig in N.A. also makes a descent P-dog / groundhog gun with the right bullet / powder combo .

The 30-30 is one of the few duplicate chamberings I have, one of em is getting reamed to Ackley as soon as Fred gets the 460 S&W reamer in that I ordered at the same time.

RR has 8 of em in stock!

Don't know if you have experience with the 30-30 Ackley but I wish I still had the little Savage bolt action I had at one time.  Good calibre, it's like a blivit, got more on the inside than it looks like.

My .30-30 Handi shoots very well and is, well - just Handi.  I just got rid of my .30-30 Savage 340 since it was an older one that wasn't drilled for a scope and I didn't want to ruin it by drilling it.  I find that the .30-30 is a great caliber for my big game, predator and small game hunting.  I use both cast and jacketed bullets in it as required.  I've got a .45-70 Handi also, but the .30-30 is more versatile.

Kind of makes you wonder if that new Marlin .30 will find it's way into a Handi chambering.  Or perhaps the rimmed .307.  But now that Remington has the reins, Winchester chamberings probably won't be positively considered.  Course the real question it how much of current productions will be extended under the "new" label, much less expansion of offerings.   Maybe there could be a .260 Remington down the road..... :D
Will that bow kill an elk?     Sure.....but arrows are much more effective.

:o  I had no idea there were so many "blivits".  #1 on the list is the only definition I had heard.

The old thuty-thuty is kind of like that.  Has way more potential than it looks like IMO.

307, now you are talking.
I love that round.
I have one in a WINCHESTER BIG BORE 94.
Loaded with WINCHESTER 150gr silver tips.
It has taken it's share of whitetails out to a little over 275yds on open sights.
Just a couple of hundred feet slower than a 308 in a rimed case.
I also have one in a custom 26" ENCORE a friends dad did for me a few years back before he passed away.
Everyone knows it ain't no 30-30 when it goes off.
Sure would love to have one in a HANDI!

The 307Win Handi can be made by counterboring a rim in a 308 barrel. Can be done with a boring bar in a lathe. A 30-30 extractor would work if the machining work is the same. Carefully done, 308 or 307 ammo can be fired in the same barrel. The 307 case is a 308 with a 30-30 rim on it. It is just loaded shorter with flat or round nose bullets to function in a levergun.
