Give us your opinions about the Chicago Cubs chances, this year, please? So far, so good. IMHO.

This is coming from a life long cub fan. They always start out pretty good and I think their chances look good so far this year but I won't hold my breath.

My whole family are die-hard Cubs fans..... except me.  If I was a fan of any team, it would be the Cubs, I am just not a big fan of any professional sports.
Last time I was in Wrigley was 1958 - a double-header against the Phillies.  I understand that the ticket prices have been increased since then? :D :D :D
My daughter and son-in-law did treat me to a Cubs game recently, (can't remember if it was last summer or the previous one) but we went to Milwaukee to see it as home tickets were impossible.  It was fun, great stadium too.
I don't have any opinion on how they'll do this year, but I would like to see them have a good year.  The fans sure deserve it.. they are loyal.

I've been a Cubs fan since my dad introduced me to baseball and the little league? Ernie was playing short stop then.

Yup, #14,  I still have a memory of people slamming the empty seats down in a rythm when he came to bat, wanting him to hit one.  Remember how straight up and high he held the bat?  I guess I claim not to be much of a Cubs fan, but come to think of it, he WAS one of my childhood heroes. "Mr. Cub". He also played a few other positions didn't he?

1st bases after he started slowing down and if memory servers correctly, outfield for a short time? Ernie isn't only an all star player but, a gentleman as well!

Steve,
No bets from me! Those Cubs are looking strong and are due for a Championship. I just wish that a late Uncle of mine was around to see it happen. He was very dear to us and passed away just a couple of years ago. A lot of people can tell you who the worlds greatest Cub fan is and it is usually a relative of theirs but my Uncle had to be the greatest one ever!. I can remember him listening to the radio, urging those Cubs along as early as 1962 and it was something that he did at every chance on every game.

My Father and us boy's used to be Cardinal fans. My Uncle got them to watching those Cubs (all except me) and they never looked back. My Father then got my Wife to start watching the Cubs and she in turn, poisoned my own daughters against me!. And so life goes...

Ya, Randy, I appreciate Albert Pohols(sp) also. can't take anything away from him and Lou Brock who was a Cub before a red bird, and others. I just hated it when they let the Red Sox beat them in the world series a few years back,  2005?

Cubs and Sox both 3&1/2 games in front of the rest of their divisions! Man, would I love to see a subway world series in Chi town, this year. Red birds dropped one, yesterday.

Completely
Useless
By
September

 ;D ;D

There are hundred year old ladies waiting to die so they can see the Cubs win the world series.  Cubs are looking pretty good now, but it's only the beginning of June.

P.S.

I'm a die-hard Cardinals fan.

I think that the announcer said that Soriano (spelling) did have a break in the left wrist after last nights game?
Sure hated to see that for a player of his caliber. :(

What's going on, are opposing pitcher aiming at Cub hitters? Soriano the other day, and now Johnson yesterday, against Atlanta? I didn't see either game, just wondering if they(hitters) were crowding the plate?
