How hard would it be to remove the bayonet lug and front site off of this rifle? Should i let a gun smith do this?

Its pretty hard to get off....Its a sleeve pressed on and pinned around the barrel....some people cut them off and contour them to match the sleeve....check out surplusrifle.com
they have alot of articles on that stuff
