Just fishing here. I have never used xmp5744 but I understand it is a VERY bulky powder designed to fill some of these big black powder cases. Sounds like it would be ideal for .45lc. Anyone out there with any experience?

44, I wen't to the Accurate Arms website, they do have listing's for 45 Colt with 5744. I was experiencing problems with either my server or their website, so you'll have to check for yourself, but it IS listed.

It's not the cleanest burning powder out there, it won't "fill" a case but it will work with a FIRM crimp.

I knew a fellow who used it in a .44 Mag snubbie. His motivation was that it was once CHEAP. I think I paid $25 for a four 8 lb jug case DELIVERED. That was pre HAZMAT.

Anyway, he used as much as would touch the base, put a heavy crimp on it and blasted away. You never saw such a fireball in your life.

He actually shot passable scores with it in a PPC snubbie match. But the guys on each side didn't.
