How Much?
« on: May 13, 2008, 04:25:22 PM »
I have a guy that came to me and wants me to get rid of his Beaver.

How much should I ask per Beaver? I need to make something on this, since the pelts are no good, and the price of gas is high.

Well, It's right outside of a major city, but not in it. It's on a leased duck hunting spot.

Last spring I went in and caught a family of them. Now, with all the Sandpits around, the beaver aren't going to stay out of this place. There's a home developed sandpit only a 1/2 mile away. Once the young ones get kicked out of the local sandpits, I'm sure they'll find this place pretty easy year after year.

Do you think $100 is too much to ask, since I'm not licensed or insured? All I am is a part time trapper. I don't consider myself a pro-beaver trapper by any means.

That amount is all up to you. Like I say, I would charge that much to set it up. Then a per beaver amount. But thats me. When I trap the far north country, the townships are charged less than that.Just don't sell yourself short. If it takes a while to get the job done, it could end up costing you money.
