Are the mosin nagant 91/59 rifles hard to find and what is the going price on one in good shape?
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.

They are not as common as 44's and 38's.  I lucked into mine for $89.95 on a used gun rack, but a local Army/Navy chain had them for $119.95, and I've seen them for $149.95.

I just saw 44's at Gander Mtn. for $149.95.  I don't think that they are going to sell many at that price, but you never know.

You'll see them from about 100-175, depending on condition, etc
$120 or so seems the norm.
Occasionally you can find one at a pawn shop mistaken for an M44

Personally, to insure a good rifle, buy one from Allan's Armory. He'll give accurate descriptions and if he sells it, it's topnotch. If you ever resell it, stating that it came from Allan helps also.

Interesting little rifles. If you're collecting Mosins at all, you need a 91/59     :)

When I first started collecting i figured getting a M91/59 or an M38 my chances were slim to none since they have been gone for sometime.  I been driving past this gun shop for about 20 years and never went in.  One day i stopped in and found a 95 chilean 7mm mauser and a M91/59 russian mosin turned into a sporter but it looked like new.  Both were covered with an inch of dust.  I thought the M91/59  was a m44 at first.  Now after some time they were offering the M91/59's and the M38's again.  Once these dried up down the road again these were offered again but there was less 91/59's and more m38's offered.  You really have two choices to look and buy and pay the going price or wait to see if there offered again.

I would also checkout Empirearms and Allens Armory you may pay a tad more but you'll be happy with what they sent you quality/condition wise.  These guys hand pick there guns.  Or I would watch SOG (southern ohio gun) or Century arms or aim surplus too see if there offered again or should i say when and if there offered again.

You could checkout gun broker or guns america too.
