Gunsmith tool rental
« on: May 19, 2008, 05:17:53 AM »
I have promised myself I would build a Mauser sporter someday.  I found the action some years back and now want to start the barrel work.  The problem is I can't find a place to rent the tools.  I need the action and barrel wrench reamer and Go No-Go gauges.  I only want to build one so buying the tools doesn't make much sense.  I've left four messages at 4-D but they don't return the call and I've just about written them off.  Where else can I get the tools I need?

No good.  I just can't find the tools I need for rent.  Another forum member is in the same position.  I'm wondering if there's an open market here ::)

I've been watching this with interest.. I've never known a company to rent these simple tools. so was wondering if there was one. I use a set of oak blocks with a hole drilled so it is half in each.. My father-in-law has a 30 ton press that supplies the hold. The wrenches are many. the last ought at a gun show for $10.. I've made many but find them easier to just buy now.. although I have most of the needed ones. I've seen a universal wrench on EBay that seems to have a lot of promise. I may even have kept some pics for later duplicating it..
