LC Smith
« on: May 22, 2008, 05:11:10 AM »
I have been offered an LC Smith is good condition for $900.  I like the looks of the gun.  Yes, it is old.  It has the side plates, therefore, I think it is a sidelock.  There are no bad blemishes on the gun, wood or bluing.  No, I don't know what grade, or model, the gun is.

Is this a good price?  If I decided I don't want it could I get my money back?  Could I make a little profit when selling the gun?

Thanks for any help

All the old LC Smiths were side lock guns. Parkers  and Winchester 21s are box lock but Elsie's are side lock. Yes I'd say it's almost for sure worth that no matter the grade if condition is decent. The higher the grade of wood and fancier the checkering and the more engraving and the more intricate the engraving the higher the grade. A high grade LOOKS like a high grade but even a standard grade should be worth that in nice shape.

If your plans are to shoot it make darn sure it does NOT have damascus barrels tho.
