Frankford Arsenal Scale

Hi guys,
I have been hanging out over on the Contender forums for a while now and am expanding into this one since I am getting set up to roll some.
I did a search here about the Frankford digital scale that Midway (and others) are offering at a Great price with great reviews but didn't come up with anything in the search.
Anyone want to give me some input on it?

I'm sure the FA scale works as advertised. One concern I would have is battery life with a DC only scale. For not a lot more you can get one with an AC adapter. Batteries seem to go out at inopportune moments. A manual scale is a must! If money is tight and you can buy but one scale, make it a balance beam. It will be there to verify the accuracy of the digital when you buy one, and as a backup when batteries go down. I like my digital scale, but wouldn't be without the balance beam.

The reviews do say there is a battery issue
but upgrading to a better battery and cleaning the contacts worked well.

i had no luck at all with the scale. in fact  i sent three back , and the 4th is still packaged.
get a good beam scale .

Thanks, good to know. I too was considering the FA scale for a back-up/alternative to my 5-0-5. Thought the sale price of $29 was too good to be true, and kinda why I steered clear.

I did buy one and did some testing with it.
I weighed a bunch of brass, bullets and loaded rounds.
Went back and reweighed them and they were dead on.
so far I like it but will buy a beam.

When using the digital scale, it's a good idea to turn it on and let it warm up for 10min or so before calibration. Make sure you have no drafts or air flow to affect the readings, and be sure not to damage it by dropping something on the scale platform, or weighing something too heavy for the scale.
