I've found IMR 4350 at 42 grains for a 100 gr bullet the best consistency in accuracy in my Ruger RSI for the .243.   My .308 in Mod 88 Win likes IMR 4064 at 47 grains for 150 gr bullets.  I don't have a preferred load for the .358.

.243---for any bullet 90 grains or under, H-414. If it's 100 grain bullet....well...I just don't shoot it. I got other calibers for bigger "stuff".

.308---for 150 to 168 grain bullets, Varget seems to work the best. I've tried a bunch of different ones (I can't say I've tried 'em all) but I always come back to Varget.

.358---I couldn't tell ya. I don't shoot that caliber. I wish I  had game that I could shoot that caliber at! I do shoot the 45-70 at whitetail...but I shoot lead flatnose bullets at 'em or they would just lose too much meat.

Are you looking for one powder for all three? That is a tough order. The .243 needs a rather slow powder,I use a lot of 4350 at those weights. The .308 should work well with 4895, 4320, WW748, RL-15, and a few others. The .358 can use 4895, I think my buddy loads his with RL-7. Good luck.

Lots of easy answers: IMR-4064, H-4895, IMR-4895 or IMR-4320 you can find alot more also.

Do to http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp and take a look.

i too use 4350 in the 243- but over all you might look at H335- varget-- BLC#2  I could certainly use it two of the three 308, 358-- and it very fast with 250's in the 358--for that matter with all bullet 200-250--

I'm just guessing, but if I had to pick one for all three, I'd probably pick IMR-3031 or Varget......

Well Dave, I guess the key to the sentence is the word "or". :)

Okay, okay.....I know what you mean.......

Your looking for commitment aren't you?

Then, IMR-3031. :D
