Hey guys wondering if anyone knows when the new 45/70 will be released. I keep checking R+R for it but has not been listed yet and have not gotten the email for when they come in. Anyone got the inside scoop?

I was told yesterday that accessory barrels are available.The price is 116.00 same as the other ss units

It seems any barrel that can be bought on a gun, can also be bought as an accessory barrel (if you got the right receiver).

I had mine in the shop, they were going to put a 24" 22-250 bull barrel on it. Everything was set, but while I was waiting for them to get around to working on the gun, they put the last barrel they had on a new production gun. I had to buy the fluted barrel instead ($30.00 more). I really wanted the other one but I was not going to wait 10 more weeks until they got more in.

with the bright shiny barrel and fancy stocks don't think it would fit my idea of a drag it through the brush

Some of the SS Ultras were shipped to distributors last week, but more will follow next month.

RR = RR Arms, a dealer. http://www.rrarms.com/

Both indicate if the item is in stock or not. Bud's doesn't list it yet, Zanders, Davidson's and TGS all list it out of stock.

Tried to order the new 45-70 stainless w/lam stock and thumbhole today and my dealer who goes thru Jerry's sez they haven't seen one yet. I have it on B.O.. Has anyone seen it ?

First post, been lurking and studying up the FAQ's for a while, just noticed that the status on Bud's just went from back order to "in stock". Already have the synthetic 45-70 handi, looking to get own of the ultra's soon though.

Congrats Mike, I won't get mine until next Wednesday according to UPS, since you're closer you'll have yours first and I know for sure you'll get to shoot yours first the way my range time(lack of!!) has been for the last 10 months!!

Got it, trigger averages 3lbs-11oz, throat is average, 350gr Speer loads to 2.667" COL, 400gr Speer to 2.480" COL, bore is .454" at the lands, .458" in the groove at the muzzle. The recoil pad is the same thin Marlin pad that's on my 243 Ultra, that will change, I think I'll swap the t-hole camo stock with the Decelarator on it that's on my 7x57, that should make a better match pad wise. Stainless frame is a better match to the stainless barrel than the nickeled frames on other stainless models, here's some pics...

Allow me to jump in with a question please: What load do you use in a 45-70 'varmint' gun for lets say coyote? I always think of a varmint gun as a 22-250, 223 etc, smaller cal and flat trajectory. If you're telling me a Buffalo Classic is a good coyote gun, i'm all for it. Thanks!
