Anyone ever find one of these things, formerly thought to be "weather" balloons.  You know, they used to pay a finder's fee for their return to the enclosed address.

Found one once, about 20 years ago.  Never got my pay for its return!

More to come.

Hi Griz
Wish I had kept mine, from what I now know.  General consensus has it that these were for weather observation, however by further study, I've found quite the contrary.

They were actually used in weather CONTROL experiments.  The government wanted them back, before some knowledgeable soul discovered their real use!

In controlling the weather, it was found out that certain energy frequencies could modulate the weather toward lessening the affect of storms, or worsening the storm.  These were actually RF energy transmitters, designed to self destruct their workings in about three hours.

In january of 1986 I had a trap line running in the Bradshaw Mtns. of Arizona. In a remote area of the mtn. range I came across a string of balloons, (20-25) balloons all attached to one main cord. The balloons were purple and about 2 foot in diam.
A guy gets lonesome and bored out there, so every time I checked my sets I'd take a balloon or two and inhale the helium and talk... :-D  :-D The only possible place that I could think were they came from was the Rose Bowl parade in calf.  Thats got to be 350-450 miles away.  :D
Blow a vintage Circe dinner bell and they will come...
