fit a handi in a violin case?
« on: May 31, 2008, 05:56:59 AM »
Does anyone know if a handi will fit into a standard 4/4 violin case?

I'm thinking there's plenty of room in there for a handi, some ammo, cleaning kit, maybe even a sidearm. I'm just thinking of ways being able to bring my handi into a hotel room and not leave it in a car. Just another alternative to taking it apart.

Would there be any legal issues concerning this? The point is to keep it concealed. I wouldn't see it any different that just putting it in a plain cardboard box.

Violin case, I like it. ;D

I had a CAS enthusiast friend from Vancouver Island BC Canada that carried his side-by-side 20ga in a violin case. Back pre-9/11 he'd have some fun with the US Customs guys when traveling to American matches... I doubt he'd find too many of them amused these days. :-[

trotterlg: Nice set-up Larry, what is the length of that barrel?

That rifle was a 30 Carbine, I have since replaced it with my 17 Remington fireball.  I had trimmed down the stock to fit, with the current rifle I used a Youth synthedic stock and a barrel length of 18.5 inches, it fits just as well.  Larry
