Traditions Navy conversion question
« on: June 04, 2008, 05:54:55 PM »
I noticed an 1851 navy colt in the case down at the local pawn shop, it was a traditions and was a .38 special conversion.  Has anyone had any experience with these?  Are they any good?  What should a used one run?

It looks like something that would be fun for cowboy action shooting but I don't want something that's junk.

if it has ASM (Armi San Marcos) on the bottom of the barrel (most likely place), don't buy it.  It should be an Uberti made conversion to be trustworthy.

Kev if that ASM is still there and it's a 1872 Richards OpenTop Conversion Gated with Ejector Tube I'd grab it at a good price. Nothin' wrong with the old ASMs that ain't wrong with the quality control of any past or present 3rd Generation C&B BP Revs.

What would a good price look like on one of those?  I haven't looked back at the shop because I just bought a truck and haven't got any business looking at guns until my sales tax is paid.
