sweet mother of pearl-----ruptured eardrum is killing me!

As of age 38 I have had brain surgery, torn ligaments in shoulder, dislocated shoulder, dislocated knee, 2 knee surgeries, and a ruptured appendix.

All of that pales in comparison to a ruptured eardrum............how?  How in the crap can it hurt this much?  I am doubling up on Darvocet and still can't sleep. 

Didn't even DO anything to rupture it.  Just got sinus/ear infection and last night...."pop", "squeak", "hissssss"

Can't hear squat from left side, whole side of head hurts.

Just thought that I would share.

You have my sympathy, Bud. 

I am susceptible to ear infections.  Had some where the side of my head was numb and throbbing.  I cannot imagine a ruptured drum.

I hope your pain is short lived and all works out well.

Man, what the hell is going on here!!Between blown discs in the neck, eardrums rupturing, back surgery's, everbody on this sight getting old and falling apart?? Think I'll go take some Aleve, put on my orthopedic shoes and back brace and go to work.  gypsyman

I have Cipro antitbiotic eardrops (who knew?) and some oral antibiotic.

This is gross but--- when I blow my nose air blows out of my ear.  NOT normal.

I get an ear infection almost every year. I sweat a lot and work in a very dusty environment. Swimmers ear they call it. It can be very painful you have my sympathy. I've also had the swollen side of the head and been unable to close my jaws completely because of the swelling. Hopefully those antibiotics will have you feeling better in a couple of days. You can try laying on a hot water bottle, it might help.

When i was younger(lot younger) was a welder, i have burnt holes in my ear drums twice,
but their was very little pain, until the dr. got hold of me. Infections can be very
bad, can travel through you system.
