Have no fear the 3 buck gas will be back. The newly elected folks are going to tax it til iot hurts and tell us to go electric or some other rout we can't afford to buy but the elites will have no problem affording. Just another wat to keep you in your place

Can gasoline be stored indefinitely in a sealed container? It might just be worth it to go out and buy many 55 gallon drums and store it. Dale

  Dale;
Sta-bil wouild keep it up to a year...but don't be caught hauling it without a Hazmat permit and without proper placards, permits etc.
The fine would be very steep! Actually; we are juist "getting away with it" when we go to the station and bring home a couple gallons for the lawn mower.
I wouldn't want to store such a quantity around my place in any case.

Regular gas here in SW Pa is now down to $1.89. I don't think it has been that low in about 3 or so years here. I am thinking now it might just fall to about $1.49. Would that not be great? Dale

We are now at $1.84 a gallon. I heard on the news this morning that if Crude would drop another  $10.00 a barell we could see regular gas at about a buck a gallon. Who on Earth would of even thought that was possible 6 months go? Dale

On the national news tonight they said gas could drop below $1.00 a gal in the near furture. I'll beleave it when I'am filling up my P/U. On the other hand the Opec countrys are getting ready to have a big meeting on cutting what they pump. It looks like HELLO $3.00 or more a gal. again.

Yep I am totally amazed at the price of gas. Not more than 4 months ago I paid over 4 dollars a gallon and yesterday I paid 1.67 a gallon at the same station. I remember not so long ago telling a friend that gas would never again be 3 dollars. Guess I owe him an apology.

I really don't think any of us believed it would go lower than $3.00 but here we are and I am happy for it. I just hope OPEC does not cut production so much that it goes up to $3.00 a gallon or more. This is just a calm in the storm and we will see $5.00 a gallon gas next time. I hope our country continues to work on more fuel efficient cars and such. Some way some how we need to wean ourselves from foreign oil. All it does is make our enemy strong and us weak. Dale

Dale Im sure you are right about the 5 bucks a gallon. I hate to see it but it's coming around again in the near future. I wonder if people can still lock in a price on gas like they could back a few months ago. Sure would be great to lock it in at 1.50 for the next few years. ;D

It is $1.69 here today.  I NEVER imagined it would be under $3 a gallon much less under $2!  It is kind of scary actually.  Why is the price so low?  I'm not complaining, but it seems kind of strange to me.  I'm not sure what it is, but there is more to this.  Call me a conspiracy nut, but there has to be an ulterior motive.  The official story of supply and demand is crap.

My guess is that the transfer of wealth out of America became a case of too much too fast. So they are slowing it up till they think that its safe to raise prices again.

Ok Heather here is what I think. I agree with you that things don't seem quite right. I wonder if OPEC realises they nearly broke the US economy with the round of high crude prices. They can not make money if the US is broke!!!!!!!!!!! They depend on us as much as we depend on them. They just wanted to see how far they could push it last time. I think they know now and the whole world is paying for it. I don't care what anyone says the cost of oil in the last 6 or 8 months has brought our world economy to where it is now. I think OPECK will back off a bit just to let the world to recover but make no mistake they will cut production back as soon as the world gets back on their feet. Dale

the price is low because they were screwing us from the start.  somebody in power hauled in the ceo's and told em they drop the prices or they were going to jail.   strictly my opinion.   i believe the two major reasons for the recession are the media and the price of fuel.

Paying $2.02/gallon here in Germany.  Germans are still getting raped on fuel taxes though.  I think they are at about $6/gallon.  I'll figure it out and let you know how bad it will be when the new socialist taxes take effect in the US.

We will see 4.00 a gallon in less than two years. The higher it gets the lower it goes. It will go back up when big O gets in cause the media will start saying the economy is looking up. This will happen about two weeks after "W" is out and "O" is in. The people will believe what they hear and will start spending again.

they  just  lowered  the  cost  because

Not so much as calling in the CEO's and threatening them with jail... but as to someone in power saying OK lets lower the cost... well it is plausible at least.

I don't think it works that way. I think Opec is involed in the futures and may have a monopoly on that too so when we say drill here drill now they lower the future trading price, maybe even sell futures  back to themselves, why wouldn't they lower the price when we start  drilling?

I don't believe the falling prices have much to do with supply and demand.  I think the market is rigged by the elite.  According to Lindsey Williams, OPEC doesn't decided what they're going to sell oil for.  Somebody else does.  He also predicted that oil would soon drop to $50/barrel, and he made this prediction before it had yet peaked at $140 something.  He got his info from a CEO within the oil cartel.

As much as it would be good for America to provide its own oil, America needs other countries to sell us oil while in turn using those dollars to buy our debt.  If that doesn't happen, then the game is over anyway, as about the only thing that's been keeping the dollar half-way stable for the last several years is the fact that it's the reserve currency of the world, established during the Brenton Woods Conference in 1945.  Ever since Nixon took the US off the gold standard in 1972, the dollar's 'new' backing was oil.  Other countries hold our dollars to buy oil, among other things.  The US empire is now dwindling, other country's demand for our dollars is fading, and the our leaders our trying to convince us that these bail-outs will make everything alright.  Like I said, the game is soon going to be over, and most Americans will have to get used to a much lower standard of living.

I hear ya.  I myself have cut costs almost every way I can, within reason.  There isn't much more I can cut without making life quite uncomfortable, which I know will eventually happen anyway.
