Last night we loaded up one experianced strikedog and a bunch of cur pups. 3 of which it was either their first hunt or second, and decided to give it a try. At the first field my old strikedog hit the hogs out in the brush and the pups were not sure if they should go to him. We ran them out in that direction and while we did not get that one they learned to go. At the next field the old dog and one of the cur pups that I have that is more experianced struck a nice 200 or so pound piggy sow out in the middle of the field.
This time the pups ran in to the bay before the catch were turned loose and we were able to get a good bay and catch with them. Two fields later the dogs got on and killed a small pig, and later on we got on a pack of small hogs and got a nice eating size shoat. Which my little brother-in-law was able to get his first stick with.
