You know, I see this argument everywhere I go. Gun shows, parties, everywhere. However, I'm 60, and and spend most of my time with people my age.
My question is this, do younger folks see this as we do? Do they have a different take on all this?

Mike. You raise an excellent point. I'm 52 and have stated my opinion from my tiny little piece of dirt that I own on this planet. But I often wonder if the 20 somethings think on a global scale and think about "our" country....or better yet...."their" country. I'm not talking about the whacko's who are in PETA and such, but the "main line" majority of young folks.

Dave,
Before I retired from John Deere Dallas in 2004,we had about a dozen "full time" (old guys), and about two dozen "college kids" working in the warehouse. Most of these kids had one thing in mind, "When am I gonna get laid, when am I gonna get paid".
I worry that our kids, the generation between, learned from us to "live in the now", and passed that on to their kids. Now those kids have no concept of preparing for the future. For them, maybe in their minds, there is no future.

Mike,

I dunno. I can't argue with you. You may be right, you may be wrong. The scary part is, I think you are more right than wrong. At least....that's what my gut tells me.
