Quick Release Rings for my 629 S&W
« on: June 14, 2008, 09:29:35 AM »
I am thinking of getting some for my new 629 Stealth Hunter (it has a fixed weaver mount on the top of it).  I think it would be great to go from using a scope to using the plain old fix sight.  Do people use these for their revolvers.  If so, what type of success and what kind do you have?  Thanks so much in advance.

Get in touch with Joni "Broomrider"(I think she goes by on this forum) and ask her? She's posted pics of one of her 629s with these on it.

I have a S&W 500 PC Hunter. It has a Weaver mount on the barrel. I have a Weaver 2x scope mounted using Warne QD mounts. Removal is nice and quick and it return to zero when reinstalled.

Don't forget to loctite the scope in the rings.

I have a Pre 93 Mod 629 6" will that Weaver base fit the pre-drilled holes.

I had purchased off of CDNN a B-Square scope mount which did not say Post 93 on their add, and well it won't fit without now doing a D&T and removing the rear sights.  I also would like to have a choice in either using a scope and or removing to use my iron sights when not hunting.
