It sure has a lot of recoil.
Correct. I'd say it is unusable when loaded such that it has that much recoil, except the standard remedy back when was to take a stout rope a little longer than the axle and tie each end to the outside of each wheel. That way the rope allows only a small recoil distance by stopping the wheels from rolling very quickly, as soon as the rope tightens across the trail. In this case, the recoil is hard enough that the gun would probably slide over the ground for a little ways even if the wheels were stopped by a brake rope.
