9MM Cast Bullet Dia.
« on: June 15, 2008, 03:28:45 PM »
I have some 147 grain cast 9MM bullets that measure .358 with my dial calipers. The box even says 9MM and .358 but I'm thinking maybe I should use them in a .38 and look for some .356 dia's for my 9MM loads. The owner of the indoor range where I shoot limits loads to 900 fps so I want a load that will cycle my 9MM action and still be under 900 fps. Think I could do this by using 147 grain cast bullets and 3.5 to 3.8 grains of 231?  Thanks.

ive shot 358s in mine. Some will feed them just fine and some wont. But most of the time i size to 357 for the 9s and 358 for the 38s. They will work fine in your revolver.

I have used .355 to .358 lead bullets in my 9mm with no differences and no signs of pressure issues.

Thanks, that was my concern.
