How short? 18.5"????????/

How short can I cut down a shotgun barrel?  If It has a permantly attached muzzle break does that count as part of the overall length or will that be ontop of the min. requirement?

The minimum for the barrel only is 18" including the permenant muzzle brake.But the overall length of entire gun cannot be shorter that 27". Kurt

I cut my handy down to 18 3/4" i forgot the overall length it was 30 something....It is short...You don't realize it until you get it cut down and hold it....It is a good 6" shorter than a pump shotgun with an 18" barrel...

here it is...If you have a handi-rifle laying around with a 22" barrel this is about 3-4 in shorter...This is pretty close to the length i was looking for....It kicks pretty bad though with 1oz slugs....

My 28 inchs Pardner kicks pretty bad also.  Only difference I could see would be the few ounces lost from the 9 1/2 inches of barrel missing.  BTW thats a nice looking shotgun.

here's my maverick 88 12 ga. Had a problem today at the range-wouldnt extract Aquilla #4 buck shotshell-seems to work ok with full size shell of other flavors. Need to go back out with diffrent fodder & see what's going on.  Kinfe is a CRKT folding Hissatu (?)
