Scratches and nicks on barrel/wedge/frame
« on: June 22, 2008, 05:31:46 PM »
I have two or three older C&B revolvers that I have inherited or otherwise obtained over years of reenacting.   A couple of the Colts, have some hideous looking nicks, pings, and other assorted boo boo's around the area of the wedge (both sides).   Some came that way and some are my own clumsy handy work.

Have any of you guys had any luck buffing and/or filing these marks and then re-blueing with any success or am I just SOL??

Probably nothing that can be done but I can't help but think the pistol looks like it was used to drive nails.

As always TIA!!

Nicks and gouges can sometimes be healed with burnishing http://tinyurl.com/5dfhdd
