Shootall is right. When we were kids in the Indiana woods, the first thing we learned was you NEVER stepped off the pavement without some sort of ordnance. A.22 still beats a pocket knife!
While on the subject, We were started on .22's, but pretty soon were moved up to centerfires. Now, I'm 60, and big recoil isn't much of a problem. What is everyone's thinking on stepping kids up to centerfires as soon as possible?
