This is just plain stupid. I had problems myself with my drivers license when I was much younger. It took me 11 years to get it back and I will never loose it again that is for sure. By the way my problems were not DUI related. I have never had a DUI. I've noticed that young women drivers are getting as aggressive as men.  This one seems to be going for some kind of prize!

Yea 92 mph is moving along pretty good. She is lucky she did not kill some family. Did you read where the other person that received more tickets than her. She  just threw the tickets away. When the police came knocking on her door she told them she thought if she just threw them away nothing would happen. Dale

We have EZ Pass here in PA also. Last year I was on my way home from work and by mistake I drove through the EZ Pass lane. I pulled over and tried to pay the toll guy telling him I drove through by mistake. He said he could not take my money. The camera had already taken a picture of my license plate and would be receiving a ticket in the mail in a couple weeks. He gave me a paper that tells you what to do if this happens. I had to wait to get the ticket and then mail in my toll money along with an explanation of how I ran through EZ Pass. I am glad I did not have to pay the fine. I don't remember how much the ticket would have been but I do remember it being pretty steep. Dale

My first experience with these cameras was in Spain many years ago.  I picked up my mail one day and had a ticket for speeding, along with the ticket was a photograph of the car, you could read the license plate number, it had date and time, and the speed at the time.  You could also clearly see the profile of the driver...........it wasn't me, but a friend who I had loaned the car too.  I called him and told him I had got a speeding for the time he was driving the car, he denied speeding, and said it could not have been him becaues he never got over the speed limit.  After seeing the photo he and I went to pay the ticket, he paid and also had points assessed against his license.

I guess several cities in Texas are using a photo system, I know Houston is.  Several months ago a letter arrived in my mail box, my wife who is near blind picked the mail up, and opened the letter.  The name was not even close to mine.  Inside was a request for payment for a ticket on an individual who lived in Houston.  His license plate number was one number diffrent than mine.  I called the folks (my dime trying to be nice) and tol;d them the ticket was sent to the wrong address, and explained that my wife had opened the envelope by accident.  Since that time I have received at least 10 letters from them, each time I send it back as wrong address.  I even went on the net and found the correct address for the individual in Houston and provided that to them but they continue to send the notices to me.  The problem......the company that administers for Houston Police is located in Tuscon, AZ.  The law firm that serves as a collector is in Dayton, OH.  And the poor sole in Houston that may be shot for not payoing his ticket likely has no knowledge of it at all.  He has an unlisted phone number, but I have been thinking of sending him a letter to inform him of this in case they try to jack him up for not complying with the request to pay.

My question is; why did they let her go as long as they did? It doesn't sound like the cops are doing their job. She should have been removed from the road and her license revoked, but then there are a lot of others who need that too. Like it or not speeding is breaking the law and can kill just as easily as careless handling of firearms.

I would bet that it takes at least 2 or 3 weeks for that ticket to reach you after the camera takes the picture. I would think she probably received a few of those tickets while she was still earning more. Dale

I agree 100% with you. I lost my license for 11 years. You can bet I will never loose it again. I was young ( in my early 20's ) I received to many points in 12 months and had my license suspended. They caught me speeding several times. The thing is I still needed to go to work and I worked about 65 miles away. I was Asst. Supt. for a very large construction company in Jacksonville FL. There were mornings I woke up a little late and had to speed to work. I was the guy that opened the gates and such. If I was not there on time I would have hundreds of people standing around waiting for me to let them in. Well I got busted several more times speeding on a suspended license. I was young and foolish. I live in Pa now and the would not give me a license until I got right with the state of FL. I did so but it cost a lot of money and time to get it all worked out. I have the letter from FL saying I could apply for another drivers license in another state. I have told my wife if we ever take a trip there to Disney World or what ever. I will be carrying the letter with us for the simple fact that FL don't play about these things. If you get pulled over in FL on a suspended license you go straight to jail do not pass go do not collect $200.00. I can see it now (being pulled over in FL ) MR Risher we been looking for you for 20 years where have you been. Please come with us. Dale

I think when they have a picture of you and your plate. That would make little difference. Dale

We don't have speed cams yet, but do have red light cams.  Usually, if you appear in court and plead not guilty the ticket gets dismissed.

These cameras are the biggest invasion of privacy the US has ever seen and have been ruled unconstitutional in 43 states.

Maybe the supreme court will take a case and give us back some of our 4th and 5th amendment rights that have been stolen from us.

Here's a link which goes into a bit of detail on how they deal with such cameras in England.

I would think these cameras are not cheap. It would seem the the English people are fed up with these cameras and burn them often. Does not seem to be very cost effective. Dale

;D

Here in Illinois we have the cameras in work zones on the highway. First offense is $350 minimum. We also have cameras at some intersections for people that blow red lights.

Our tollway pass is called the I-pass and they said when they instituted it that it would not be used to time your travel. I didn't believe that from ther start. They haven't started timing people yet but if it pays off for other states you can bet Illinois will want the cash.

A little off topic but still on the subject of Cameras and BIG BROTHER'S prying eyes. In York, PA. they have installed cameras with sound sensors around the city for the purpose of detecting gunfire "so police can respond more quickly". They haven't caught anyone for a shooting yet, but there have been several arrests for prostitution! HHMMM???

I have heard that in London they have cameras on every corner. From what I understand they can see every part of the city from one camera or another. I consider this a violation of my rights. I do realize they don't have the same rights as we do here. I just hope it never comes to that here in the good old USA. Dale
