Primer Catcher
« on: June 29, 2008, 12:41:52 PM »
I have been looking at Lee's site and else ware
trying to find a picture of the primer catcher
for the classic press.

I have just been putting a coffee can lid down
to try and catch the spent primers
but it does not work very well.

Don't laugh >:(
It's use rookies that keep you old timers
stuff to read, laugh at and post about ;)

Thanks,
Mike

I do not have a Lee Classic, but I think they use a long tube. I thought this tube was supplied with the press, but if it isn't you can get what you need at the local hardware store. This tube can be fed into a trash can or other suitable container. I think I have seen where these have been fed into a glass jar with a lid on it. The hole in the jar is just big enough to force the tube into, then the jar/lid hangs from the tube. The primers just fall into it then when the jar is full you unscrew (but leave the lid on the tube) it and dump it into the trash. Good Luck and Good Shooting.

BTW I think the Lee Classic is a very good press for the money. It maybe the next one I get when the one I have wears out. I have had it for 25 years now.
