What I have, what I sold...
« on: July 01, 2008, 04:52:08 AM »
I've bought so much, sold so much, receivers, stocks, barrels, custom stuff.  What have you done with your handies?

Bought and sold:
12 gauge screw in choke barrel with scope mount added.
22 Hornet barrel.
204 Ruger Barrel.
50cal muzzle loader barrel,
Two receivers.
Several pallet wood and plain wood stock sets.

Have:
17mach2 sporster, (very accurate)!
50 Cal muzzle loader barrel.
45/70 barrel.
223 barrel on the way.
Several peep sight sets.
Several scope bases.
Hammer extensions.
All rifles kept and sold have had trigger jobs.
Just one receiver.
Custom checkered Monte-Carlo, pistol grip, green camo laminate stock.
Custom checkered, straight comb, straight grip, green camo stock.
Matching forearms for rifles and muzzle loader.

Wanted:
My 12 gauge barrel back!!!, Stupid me.
A light caliber deer rifle barrel, maybe 25-284?, to match my Rem 700.  Maybe 243 to match my sons rifle.
A 410 barrel for blasting fun, a 20 gauge would work also.
Maybe a full set, 410, 28, 20, 16, and 12 gauge barrels, no thanks on the 10 gauge.

Other rifles I have:
LH Rem 700, all tricked out, in 25-284
Winchester 1897 clone, 12 qauge, Navy Arms, one of the first 50 made, ghost ring installed.
LH CZ 452 being converted to 17 Mach 2.
LH Charles Daily 223 Mini Mauser, (likely to become my sons when I get my 223 barrel).
Several Savage 99's, one given to each of my kids.
LH Savage Mark2, 22 given to my son.
Remington Targetmaster single shot, given to my son, (just like the one I grew up with).
Stevens favorite, pre-serial number, fixed and given to a daughter.
Savage 1903 given to my other daughter.
3 separate handguns at the moment.

I still have a couple that I'm kicking myself for selling so don't feel like the Lone Ranger , sold a 12ga Tracker 1 barrel over a year but was able to get it back .  ;D  ;D also sold a few 20ga barrels that I wish I didn't .

Other than that I keep most all of the Handi stuff , did give away a set of the ML fiber-optic sights and was happy to do so , as I hated them .  ;) old eyes didn't work well with them . Still have a few sets of factory sights and scope mounts laying around and wish I had a few more hammer extentions .

There have been other guns that have come and gone over the years that thinking back I should have kept , but that's life .  :-\

Oh, sure.  Nothing like getting all depressed over mistakes I've made in my younger and stupid past! :'(  And all at 5:15 am in the morning, still working on my 2nd cup o joe. :P  Ya got no heart man. :(  I've changed my ways, turned over a new leaf, not gonna do that anymore! ;)  At least not till the next time. ;D  I am trying to get over the " gotta have that one, so will sell/trade this one" way of operating.  Now I give it to one of the kids and THEN go get another! ;D :D ;)  DP.
RIP Oct 27, 2017

My dad gave me a Rem 521T when I was 11, about 1952, to use in the Junior Rifle Club.  When I was 14 he gave me a J.C. Higgins 12 ga. pump.  When I was 17 I bought a Marlin 336T .30-30.  The Rem was stolen about 20 years ago, and When I was a poor, married Seaman in the Navy, I sold the Marlin.  Then I traded the J.C. 12 ga. for an Ithaca Featherweight 16 which purely beat the crap out of me dove shooting in Florida.  I lamented the loss of those old guns for years, and all my buddies knew it.  When I moved to Michigan from Florida in 1990, they presented me with a mint conditon Marlin 336T and a Buck knife.  (the Buck only does that...cut bucks).  Then, about 2000, I walked into the Newberry MI gun show and there was my J.C Higgins looking like it just came out of the box...identical to mine.  I lifted it, pressed the slide release, and down it came.   I bought it.  Now I need my 521T and I'll be happy.

Those were the memorable ones.  Over the last 20 years, I can't tell you what I've bought and sold. My wife and I now have probably in excess of 50 firearms
