Last Thursday a black bear was shot and killed by a gamewarden behind his home. The catch is he lives in southwest iowa and DNR says it was a wild free living animal probably worked up here through Missouri. Last week another bear was killed in north central Iowa near Mason City. It is believed to have come from Minnesota. PS I saw the frozen hide at the gamewardens house today. This is not a reported sighting. Mountain lions invaded this area and have been killed at a few locations in the state. Two years ago wild hogs were spotted in the same sw Iowa county where the bear was killed. I obviously don't know what's going on but I love it.

Despite what the tree huggers say, wildlife is teaming in this country. Bear, deer, moose, wolf and many other species are making a great comeback. Some of these animals are at there highest levels since the feds & states starting keeping records.
