Contender muzzleloader?
« on: July 02, 2008, 01:26:18 PM »
What are your thoughts on the T/C Contender muzzleloader. I am looking to get into blackpowder hunting this fall and since I already have a g2 contender frame, I thought this mighgt be the way to go. Or should I go with a completly different rifle? I am looking at spending $300 on the rifle.

I would go with it. It should be accurate but I am not sure if you can shoot 150 grains of Blackpower out of it. It is a very light rifle setup and would be my choice of a ML if I were hunting in the mountains with it.
The sportsman lives his life vicariously. For he secretly yearns to have lived before, in a simpler time. A time when his love for the land, water, fish and wildlife would be more than just part of his life. It would be his state of mind

I don't see myself shooting more than a hundred grains. Just deer hunting in central Texas.

Anyone have or had one?
