Good point Ranger J.....and yes, there are not alot of critters that are not mud bugs.....or crawdads......I see them every weekend when I am scouting cotton....
only thing missing in SwampEast Missouri ........is tons of cyprus woods swamps.........which USED to be here........now just a few patches here and there........a shame......bet there used to be enough wood ducks here , to blacken the sky .......now it is pretty much a flat , lifeless delta.......plenty of corn , cotton, and beans....but very very few quail, pheasant, or deer...........oh yes , we have lots of coyotes, skunks.....oppossums, and armadillos and turtles........but the armadillos are stupid, the skunks stink, the oppossums are just God awful ugly, and the coyotes are too dad gum smart to out-coyote,,,,MOST of the time............just wish we had a nice 1,300,000 or 1,800,000 acres of woods scattered out there in the bootheel. it would be a true "habitat".....with more game than you coudl ever imagine...
