45LC / .410 Choke?
« on: July 09, 2008, 08:37:05 AM »
I just received a 45LC/.410 barrel with the removable interior screw in choke. I intend to shoot .410 slugs and 45LC, no bird shot. When do you use the choke? Just for shot?

Cutter44,

The only time you will use the choke is when shooting shot shells...      DO NOT use it when shooting slugs,  45LC, or large buckshot.

I think you'll Love the 45/.410..   I use mine for the scatter gun part of her.  Fun to hunt rabbit, squirrel, and such.   Hope this helps

I load up 410 brass shells (got 'em at Midway) every spring and shoot at the nesting starlings here in Pa. In Pa., you can shoot these birds 365 days a year. They are nasty imports from England. They even walk bowlegged!  7 shot at 35 yards is about the max killing range. Loads of fun to shoot from a 10" handgun.

I got a 10" model. It's great for shot but not for 45 Colt and slugs. It's bored for 3" 410 shells so 2.4 slugs and esp 45 Colt have to jump quite a ways to the lands. Poor accuracy to say the least.
