Coyutes are in season, July 15th with either your furbearers, or small game license. You can always hunt them mange mutts (Coyutes) year 'round without a license...Of course they gotta be looking dasterdly and up to no good around farms, hence the "about to do damage" hint from the DNR. I think crows are in season now...They are all over after kicking the "kids" out of the nest. Crows are fun to hunt but you have to take out the sentry first. Its usually the male leader. Once you take him out the rest get confused and sometimes will fly in to see what happened. I keep my .22 sighted in by going after the red squirrels during the summer.
Where are you going in the U.P.? Bring your fishing pole too!

I'm all the way on the West End, but there are a lot of coyute hunters and a few might be close to where you're going. Might be able to meet up with some of them.
