20c for hunting ?
« on: July 11, 2008, 10:29:38 PM »
Any members here ever take a deer-sized animal with your Glock 10mm ? I'm dragging my 20C along with me on a Maine Bear hunt in Sept of this year. I was thinking of buying some 200 gr.  JHP Double Tap ammo for this but i might just go with the Winchester 175 gr JHP silvertip. Thoughts ? comments ?

I would go for the 180 grain Gold Dots that Double Tap offers.  I have to do some creative handloading to get those boogers up to what he has them at over my Chrony.  I have also heard that the 200 grain solids are really good hunting bullets, and the choice if you take a 10mm into bear country.  I have not heard really good things about the Silvertips.  They are supposedly unreliable expanders (when shot through clothing), and are definitely not up to the full potential of the Centimeter.

I think the mdl 20 would make a good back up loaded with hard cast 200 LSWC bullets over a healthy dose of Blue Dot.
