Accuracy of 444 Marlin??
« on: July 17, 2008, 07:30:43 AM »
What kind of accuracy (if I do my part) should I expect out of an H&R Synthetic Rifle in 444 Marlin?

Thanks,

John

Mine is very accurate with 3 different handloads using 240gr, 265gr and 355gr bullets I've shot in it, it was also tested at H&R with Remington and both Hornady factory loads shooting 1½ groups, but it's in a laminated stock, synthetic stock accuracy may or may not be as good, the forend being the critical issue as it's not as easy to "tune", see the FAQs for more on that issue.

Mine and my wife's are wood stocked and will both shoot inch and a half groups at 100 yds. using leverevolutin 265gr.
