XS Lever Scout Mount
« on: July 20, 2008, 09:53:05 PM »
Anyone put one of these on a Win 94AE
 http://www.xssights.com/store/scope.html
Instructions say you end up with a permanent epoxy fit but I have heard you can get a satisfactory result using a release ugent [as when glass bedding] ??

Thanks

Thanks - A range of advice is helpful and I need resposes specific to Wins - not Marlins

for example

Fom Midways....

"Installation Procedure:

Installation requires removal of magazine tube and forend

Pillar hole in mount will need to be opened up with a round file

and lots more.......  !!!!

Are Midways talking through their hat?
Want advice fom Win owners who have successfully fitted the mount
and what was involved

FYI - One of the responses, on leverguns, responded directly to your question by referring to a .450 Timber - which is a Winchester 94 chambered in .450 Marlin, and not a "Marlin".

MidwayUSA is erring on the side of caution, lest some ham-handed individual epoxy the forend, etc, to the barrel in the process, and blame them.

Thanks for the responses...
canon6, that sort of setup is what I am looking at
Appreciate the photo - first one I've seen beside the one from the  XS stand
Did you go for a permanent epoxy fix or use a release agent?
I am not against a permanent fix.
