Weaver 4x28 Handgun Scope as Scout Scope
« on: July 22, 2008, 05:23:09 PM »
Looking at a Weaver 4x28 Handgun Scope [Wea849425] as a scout scope on a Win 94 .45colt

- Eye relief looks to be fine
- Parallax is set at 50 yards which suits my needs for this rifle

Opinions sought....

Thanks

If I already had it, I would use it.  If I were buying it, I would rather have a 2 or 2.5 power model.  I have a 2x Tasco on a .30-30 Handi rifle, and it will shoot 1-1/4" groups at 100 yd.  I also have a 2x Leupold pistol scope on a .45-7- Handi rifle.  I like a low power scope for faster target aquisition at close ranges, and you really don't give up any accuracy.

Take a look at the Burris 2x7x32 pistol scope it has alot bigger field of view. I use one on my 12ga slug gun and it has held up to a few hundred rounds
RIP Mike. Died on July 14th, around 2am, with his family at his side, he went peacefully to be with god.
