replacement Ruger rings
« on: July 23, 2008, 04:07:39 PM »
I need a set of rings for a Ruger #1 and am thinking about upgrading to an aftermarket set.  Leupold?  Warne?  Talley?  Does anyone have any strong recommendations for or against any particular rings?  I'm hoping for low 1" rings in a gloss blue finish.

Thanks in advance.

I've not seen many choices for ruger rifles.

As far as I know, and I could be wrong, you'll probably have to use ruger rings.  Ruger has there own mounting system.

I'm sure I have a set laying around if you just need another set of Ruger rings.

A quick check on Midsouth Shooters Supply gives a long list of rings by all the major manufacturers built for replacement on Ruger Number 1s.    I buy from Midsouth, but I am sure all the major suppliers have the same offerings.,

I have two aftermarket ring sets that came with different No.1 rifles. I have no idea who made them but they are nicer looking than the factory rings.

I'm not sure how many, but several companies (almost positive Leupold is among them) make rings for the Ruger mounting system.

There are also adapters to allow you to use Weaver style, but I'd be wary of such things (fewer parts the better for a scope mount IMHO).

Leupold shows they make them.

I just don't think I've ever seen any.

Thanks for straightening this out fellows......
