TC Omega With Powerbelts
« on: July 25, 2008, 09:41:50 AM »
Took my TC Omega out some days ago and sighted it in at 50,71 and finally 100 yards. Love it!!

My first 3 shots at 100yrds were with the 295g Aerotip Powerbelt with 75 grains Pyrodex P and a Remington Kleanbore primer.
Finger points to #1 on clean barrel,

After 3 shots i swabbed and gave the barrel time to cool down. Loaded up 75g pyrodex p with now a 348 grain Aerotip Powerbelt and remington kleanbore primer. Finger points to #1 shot,

Took a lunch break and came back out with 3 more 295's but i changed out the primer to a  Winchester 777 primer and fired one primer on an empty barrel to foul it and see what happened,

Swabbed again with the 295's and used a CCI Magnum shotshell primer and didnt like it at all!

My  last two shots from the first outing, blew out the back of my sand bucket!

A couple recovered 295 Aerotips from the 100 yard sandbucket,

I will be using the 348g AT Powerbelt with 80 grains Pyrodex Select this year for a late season cow elk hunt.

Did the plastic sabot stay on? Unless soemthing has changed that plastic is suppose to come off the bullet, I had serious accuracy problems when I tried the PB's for that very reason some were laying 10yds infront of me and some down at the target.

Yep, They all came off.  Those are brand new gas seals i pulled off some other bullets just so my fingers would not cover the bullet and to show the mushrooms.

Looks good. Have you tried the sand bucket with centerfire rounds?
The sportsman lives his life vicariously. For he secretly yearns to have lived before, in a simpler time. A time when his love for the land, water, fish and wildlife would be more than just part of his life. It would be his state of mind

Yes with my 30-30 at 58 and 100 yards. What ever bullet i was using, they shed their jackets easily.
