30-30AI dies?
« on: July 25, 2008, 11:37:03 AM »
I really like the gains that you can get in a contender from the 30-30AI over the standard30-30. I am thinking about doing this conversion.      Were can you get dies?  They seem far and few between.  Could a guy have a set of 30-30 reammed at the same time as the barrel?

Just about any of the reloading companies have them , and right now Midway has the Lee 30/30 AI set on sale for $25 .

Yes you could have a die set done to match the rifle , but why spend that kind of money ?

I have the Lee dies and will vouch for the quality. I love my Contender .30-30 AI with pointed bullets. It runs at about the velocity of the .300 Savage with a 150 grain sp.

I also have a set of the Lee 30-30 AI dies and they work just fine for my Marlin 336A with 24" barrel.

GOOD SHOOTING!
