ya put it in the case and crimp and then load it in your barrel and pull da trigger. Kinda same way ya'd do iffen it was a .357" bullet. In fact absolutely no different.  :o

Like GB says, usually nothing different.  You may find that using a slightly larger expander will help keep from deforming the case as much when seating the larger bullet, if that bothers you.

And there's no pressure problems using the normal 180 load data??
Was this bullet developed for a 357 or was it originally made for some sort of 358 cartridge that made it's way to a pistol?

The Hornady 6th lists the 180gr SSP in their 357maximum TC handgun data.  ;)

A difference of just 0.001" is usually not a problem - as long as the handloader works up his load with the larger bullet regardless of what the "max load" charge is.  The 180 SSP bullet was designed for cartridges like the .35 Remington and .357 Herrett in handguns.

Thanks for the lesson guys.  I was pretty excited about trying this in my 357 contender.  My 12" pistol is set up with a red dot scope and I could see trying for a deer out to 100 yds after alot of practice.  I was thinking the spire point type bullet might offer some advantage but according to my quickload program a 180 xtp started at 1600 fps and a 180 358 ss pistol shows almost "O" advantage out to that range.  QC predicts the exact same flight path with a 75 yd zero and only 15 fps faster at 100 yds with the sleeker bullet.  I can see for the guys with accurate rifles in 357 it might have an advantage for the longer shooting.

Actually the bullet was originally designed for the 357 Herrett and 35 Remington single shot pistols.  I shoot this bullet in my 357 Herrett and 350 Remington Magnum.

Designed for bullets speeds of 1800 to 2300 fps from the muzzle.
