Keep an eye on the on-line gun auctions. I bought one a couple weeks ago off of gunbroker.com. Prices are all over the place, with guns listed in the past couple of weeks they go for from a low of $281.oo to $505.00, I paid $350.00 for the one I have. I see two 591's for sale in the classified adds at rimfirecentral.com right now.

I don't see any on gunborker today but there have been several in the past 3 weeks, keep checking, also look on Auctionarms.com and gunsamerica.com.

So far I have only shot about 30 rounds of the new centerion 30gr in it. At 50 yds as I recall shooting from a bench with the 4x realist scope I got groups ranging from 3/4" to 1 1/2". About what I get from my Marlin 925M 22mag. Not bad but not even close to what my HMR will shoot. I will be shooting some more soon and I may do some bedding work and such to the gun and see if it can be improved. Or I can bite the bullet and buy some of that $50 a box original remington ammo and try that.

Keep an eye out for clips too, there was one on gunbroker last week that sold for $205 :o :o :o :o

huntersmurf,

Looks like you found a really nice gun there. I would say a gun in that condition for that price was a good deal.

I'm happy with it. Only thing wrong with this one is the finish has started to crack, real fine cracks all over, but refinishing the stock won't be too difficult. To think last year the same gun would have gone for half that, but now that ammo is availibe at somewhat reasonable prices the value is going up. I'm thinking that will change when CZ and others start producing rifles for the 5mm.

Do you know what companies are going to produce the 5mm?

Taurus is supposed to chamber a handgun, CZ, Savage and Rossi are supposed to have rifles, and T/C is supposed to make some barrels for contender, I think it was for contender. CZ is supposed to have guns around the end of this year or first of next year, the others I don't know when. A lot of this was announced at this years SHOT show.

Oh, the CZ's will be 452's in the American and Varmint models. I'm thinking of putting a deposit on a CZ myself.

the 591 on rimfirecentral with the trigger work sounds like a good deal but i couldnt leave the dude a message something is up with my account. Wonder what the CZ will sell for when it comes out it might be worth the wait but i would hate to pass up a really nice 591. i was thinking of a 22 mag but the 5mm sounds a little more potent but theirs alot of gun and bullet choices in 22 mag kinda limited with the 5mm

Transactions need to be conducted by PM or on the classified board.  They can't be discussed on a discussion forum.
